About the event
Prior to the 1-Day Masters Degree Application Bootcamp students will receive:
- Familiarisation material: We will send you some informaiton not only on the day structure but also a self-scoring system to assess the strength of your application. Having helping many students get admitted, this will give you realistic feedback and so set you up for maximum benefit from the day.
- Personalized Admissions Review: A detailed review of your academic credentials, test results e.g. IELTS, ACT, GMAT work expereince profile and aspirations for roles afterwards. This will guide you into a narrative on the day. You don't need to have written the draft beforehand but we advise drafting bullet points and explore what the emerging narrative is that you want to convey.
- Personal Consultations: Meet with one of our Oxbridge or Ivy League trained writers on Zoom to discuss where you are in your review and what your aims are of the day: a final polished version, a workable draft, or a clearer pproach to you enture admissions strategy.
- “Ask Me Anything” Q&A:A pre-meet with our advisors for an open Q&A to help you prepare for the day and any housekeeping questions or wider understanding of the admisisons process. We can assist you one-on-one in other sessions should this be beneficial to your goals.
During the 1-Day Masters Degree Application Bootcamp students will:
- Understand the statement structure required: Outline the essentials and the desirables and how to weave these into a coherent narrative to showcase yourself. Explain what university admissions officers seek and how to tailor your experience to match this.
- Learn the art of consolidated presentation to support your narrative: Editing as well as writing to select the parts of your experince that best illuminate your distincitiveness and ensure this does not get lost by throwing in too much detail.
- Get a first draft written: Or a much better one of you had on already. The point is you have now covered off the downside risk of applying with an statement that was not fit for purpose.
- Refinement and analysis with the writing team: One-on-one sessions alongside the main group to ensure all detailed points are clear and that the narrative is strong and impactful
- Exchange and feedback with the other participants: We encourage peer-to-peer learning as additional refinements and suggestions normally emerge from peer review
- Final touch up or points of ambiguity for action: As well as getting final input, a review against the ranking metrics for strength of the statement can be taken as a concrete measure of your progress from the Bootcamp.
